The Scapegoat Suicides: Cover

I will not succeed in completing The Scapegoat Suicides by the NaNoWriMo deadline but I shall complete it. The novel will be ready for the release date of March 23rd, 2015. The Day Job is slamming on the overtime and seven days a week of nine-hour days of pure manual labor is taking its toll on my mental and physical wellbeing. I am currently the CEO of Bitch & Moan, Inc.

Family is coming to the Cove for Thanksgiving but I will be working straight through this week as I did the last.  Argh. But help may be on the way. I am training two new people this week. One is potentially bat-shit crazy. Hopefully she can rein in her demons long enough to clean a few rooms.

I found myself trying to make the cover of my upcoming novel look like every other urban fantasy out there: hot chick, hot guy, weapons, woman looking back over the shoulder, sweet ass towards the camera, guy looking like he wants to either kill you or fuck you, etc. Those are cool, really, but while the images I selected perfectly fit the characters and they look like the real thing, like they were taken just for this book, I was not feeling it. Since The Sublime Detectives series is set in the early 70’s (an alternate universe, of course) I researched the covers of pulp paperbacks back in the day. And… here is the cover, almost complete:
